This Week in Buena Music 7/30

Greetings Buena Music Families!

I hope you enjoyed your summer break! I’m looking forward to announcing our show tomorrow and sharing with you our music for this season.

I have just a few things to go over with you this evening:

1)   Camp this week and two weeks from now will be concluding at 5:00, not 5:30for our general members of the marching band and colorguard. MBSL, we’ll debrief together shortly after you speak with your respective sections.

2)   I will be distributing music for you tomorrow for Part 1 of the show!

3)   2 Forms will be going home tomorrow that are due on Wednesday:

a.    Field Trip Permission Slip Form – used for the entire season

b.    Swimmers Ability Form

These forms will be used for our Marching Band and Guard Beach Day after this Friday’s rehearsal that will be ending at 1:00 PM.

BMA will be providing some BBQ and beverages to celebrate the conclusion of the first week of camp – Parents: please check out the volunteer section on Charms if you feel like lending a helping hand to our BMA helpers.

The location of the beach will be sent out later this week! Please hang tight!

4)   As Dave Bograd mentioned earlier this week, we are still in need of Adult volunteers to help man our Funnel Cake booth at the Ventura County Fair. The Fair opens this Wednesday!

Adults!! We need your help!!

We have 49 open cook positions that must be filled by an adult !!!!   If you have never cooked, don’t worry...it is easy and we will train you!!

There are also 8 open cashier positions that also must be filled by an adult !!!!

There are still a few spots for students not in Marching Band on Aug 1, 2, & 3 (Conflicts with Marching Band Camp).

There are also several Shift Manager spots open on a separate signup. Emailsignup@buenamusic.org if you are interested in being a shift manager.

This part is really important:

You get a $10 credit towards a student's contribution for every hour you and anyone else you sign up, volunteer at the fair. If mom, dad, and Marvin who plays the Mellophone in the Marching Band work ONE shift you can earn $150 credit toward Marvin’s Marching Band!   -- AND If Marvin’s Uncle Joe and Aunt Mary will work the cashier or cook funnel cakes (which is a piece of cake, cue the drummer…ba-dum) for one shift, $250 credit would go toward Marvin’s Marching Band! If Marvin’s family worked two shifts on different days, they would raise $500 toward Marvin’s ensembles!

This year we are using a new app called "BAND" to handle the signups. This can be accessed via mobile device or desktop.  Please follow this link: JOIN BAND - This will take you to the BAND site and then you can sign up for some shifts. You can also copy and paste this link:https://band.us/n/a8acXce5ufJce

Email signup@buenamusic.org for any questions.

Thanks in advance for your help and support for our students.
