Mr. Salehi

      Sean Salehi Joined the staff at Buena High School in Spring of 2008.  As the Music Director at Buena High School, his responsibilities include conducting ensembles such as Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, String Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra, Marching Band, Winter Guard, and Winter Drumline.  Salehi started is teaching career at Oak Crest and Diegueno Middle Schools in 2004.     During his summers in the Ventura area, Salehi enjoyed his responsibilities as the Director of Music for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ventura.   While finishing college, Salehi worked as the Brass Instructor at Patrick’s Music Center in Fresno California .  Teaching in the San Diego area, Salehi helped to create and manage the instrumental program at La Costa Music, and the San Dieguito Union High School District Honor Band.       

       As a performer, Salehi has had the pleasure performing with the "Lunch Break" Jazz Band from Santa Barbara California.  As a member of "Lunch Break", Salehi had the honor of playing professionally in the community as well as appearances in the Santa Barbara International Jazz Festival.  While attending California State University , Fresno, Salehi performed with the top Wind Ensemble under Dr. Sutherland, Marching Band, British Brass Band, and the Men’s Concert Choir.

        Salehi has had the pleasure of studying under Dr. Ritchie Clendenin, Paul Shaghoian, Bobby Shew, Tom Ashworth, and Dr. Michael Caldwell .  Salehi finished his Bachelors of Arts in Music Education and his Single Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Fresno.  While enjoying his tenure at Buena High School, Salehi is continuing his education by working on his Masters in Educational Administration at National University.

        Salehi is a member of Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA), International Trumpet Guild (ITG), California Band Directors Association (CBDA) and California Music Educators Association (CMEA).
